This is my 1961 Dalton model 13 trailer. This is my baby and my most commonly seen trailer at rallies. The dalton weighs in at 1600 lbs, measures at 13ft from bumper to hitch and measures 10'6" in the actual body. to the right (front) of the trailer as you walk in you have the kitchen with the stove by the door drawers in the center and a sink in the far front corner with an icebox above the sink, next to that is a small closet and behind that the beds/dinette area.
1961 Dalton Trailer then...
I recently picked up this little old trailer. It is a Dalton model 13 built in the year 1961. I don't know too much about her but I do know this, I can't wait to go camping. One of the best parts about this little classic is that even though it is a short trailer in length it is tall in height. I am 6'2 and I have finally found a trailer I can stand up in. Also i can stretch out full length in the bed and not hit the end or have my feet hang over. I cant even do that at home. I have no clue as to what I am going to do with the model 13 as far as restoration.
- Well that was almost 8 months ago now. I have now fixed her up a little and have attended two rallies out here on the west coast.
- the exterior still looks near the same however with new wood on the inside and rebuilt to look aged she looks like everything might be original. nothing standoutish or fancy, nothing to suggest a full restoration. it just looks like a vintage trailer in its glory.
